Is anyone using VOIP phone lines to transmit contact ID signals from a fire alarm panel to a central station? The fire alarm panel that is being used is a NFS2-3030 with a UDACT-2. Notifier tech support has stated they do not have a communicator that can utilize VOIP phone lines. I have read several articles stating that you cannot use VOIP to transmit fire alarm signals, but I have not found that NFPA has specifically called out that it cannot be used or any notes, amendments, or technical documentation. Indiana is currently on the 2010 edition of NFPA 72. Any help would be much appreciated.
