I not sure about the question. It was not clear that the question may be asking the building area would be limited by NFPA 13. It is my understanding that NFPA 13 does not limit the area of a building based on the hazard classification. Looking at Section 8.2.1 of NFPA 13 limits the protected area of a floor on any one floor for a single sprinkler system riser based on the hazard classification. There is no limit in NFPA 13 on the number of sprinkler system risers. Please correct me, if I have misstated this fact.
The only limit on building area is by the construction type, building height, access for fire fighting apparatus, and occupancy classification by a local building code or regulation.
Let me know which sections of the standard that a have missed.
