Hi all,

This is my first topic and I am new into Fire protection in Buildings and MEP systems.

Is there any standard about protection of openings for pipe breakthrough through walls between two fire sectors? And does it depend of various pipe types?

I know that for ducts there are standards that there should be fire dampers with electric actuation with specified standards and domestic regulations and that all gaps in the breakthrough should be sealed with appropriate material, the fire resistance rating of which will correspond to that of the barrier penetrated, for which it shall be dully certified.

Thanks!
