Good afternoon All, is anyone aware of a "NFPA requirement for sensitivity and wireless transmitter testing"? and any associated form that would go along with it that could be presented to the AHJ?
Senisitvity testing of the transmitter???
or something else, say smoke detector?
annual the transmitter is supposed to be looked at and assure it is working, but in away it is being tested every day, because if no signals go out, someone should know about it.
Chapter 14 NFPA 72 2016
Do you want to restate the question.
OHHH I am not an engineer, so you can discount my reply if you want, and I cannot do math.
Transmitter sensitivity testing is what the AHJ is asking for? We are not using anything on the job that is wireless other then the main AES Radio that communicates to their coms center? and that is provided by a 3rd party anyways?
Normally I would ask someone proof everything is working, since it is a system.
when the transmitters first came out, I required the reports showing they hit the towers.
Not sure what they are asking for ??
You can ask nicely for a reference out of 72, so you can look at it.
Plus post the section here.
The other thing and best is call the transmitter tech support and ask what testing can be done.
