I'm bidding out a job where we will be replacing doors into an Alzheimer's wing of a nursing home. These are fire-labeled doors, so they must have positive latching, et. al. The current setup uses a mag lock and numeric keypad for security.
Do you have any suggestions on how to make this opening fire code compliant, but still provide security for the residents inside? By the way, these doors are NOT in the egress path, as there are no "EXIT" signs. In fact the "EXIT" signs lead away from these doors.
