I am working on a project where an overhead enclosed walkway is going to be installed to connect one building to another. Currently the walkway design passes right over an existing 20,000 US gallon propane tank.
NFPA 58 section 3 has well defined tank installation limitations for minimum horizontal distances to a nearby building, property line, and building overhang. It also mentions that a canopy may exist above a propane tank so long as more than 50% of the perimeter is exposed. (no height limitation of canopy given here)
None of these restrictions define whether or not an overhead walkway is acceptable in this application. Any insight on this would be appreciated.
