I recently had an electric fire in my house that was remodeled by a licensed contractor and electrician. It turns out that he wired the new copper wire connections directly to the aluminum that makes up the wiring in my house with simple screw on wire nuts. I just wanted to make sure that this was up to code. If not, what is the proper code. Why did the inspector pass this? And what should be done to remedy this situation? And do you think my contractor should be liable? The R.O.C. says he is not liable because he passed inspection. Thank you all ahead of time for you help!
