I am wanting to know where I can find information on power strips in NFPA 101. This is for a skilled Nursing facility in Nor Cal. Any approved for use in such a facility?
Sorry NFPA 101 has no direct requirements for power strips.
CMS has adopted the 2012 edition of NFPA 99 for Skilled Nursing Care facilities.
The 2012 edition of NFPA 99 only has requirements for power strips that are patient care related electrical appliances and equipment as stated in 10.2. Otherwise the power strip may be governed by the NFPA 70, National Electrical Code.
The CMS fire safety report forms have some information that may be helpful:
See NFPA 99;2012 Chapter 10 for RPTs compliance.
NFPA 101-2012 Chapter 2 (page 101-23) : references NFPA 99; 2012 edition for compliance with power strip RPT's in chapter 10 of NFPA 99;2012.
