Hoping to get clarification between NFPA 96- 11.6.4 (2017) which states Fire suppression systems shall not be rendered inoperable during the cleaning process and NFPA 96- 11.6.5 (2017) which stated components of the fire extinguishing systems shall be permitted to be rendered inoperable during the cleaning process. I’m  I missing something here what the difference between the Fire suppression systems and the fire extinguishing systems.

It would appear to me that both suppression and extinguishing systems are the same things and these two code conflict with each other.

# NFPA 96, #NFPA 96- 11.6.4, # NFPA 96-11.6.5 # Kitchen Hood , # Hood cleaning
