Why when we responded to an oil burner malfunction at a school boiler room with clouds of black smoke from the boiler, we got HCN alarms on our 4 gas meters but no CO?
CO is not there in required quantity to detect?
What range do your detectors sense at?
Do you test them with CO?
As i recall there was an article from Toronto or another big Canadian city that noted seeing increased levels of HCN with unburned/poorly burned heating fuels? As for experience in the same? No. First thing I look for is the proper calibration of the 4 gas, a bump test and was a fresh air zero properly done?
I assume you calibrate the 4 gas with a span gas tank that uses CO, O2, HCN and some flammable gas for LEL?
