Listed Equipment Installation

I am installing milling equipment in a flour mill in the United States but the manufacture of the equipment is European and the equipment itself does not have a Nationally Recolonized Testing Laboratory label on it.  This seems to be a common in the manufacturing industry to get equipment with a European Listing on it but not a NRTL listing. It is also being installed in a Class 2 Div 2 location so it needs to be dust tight. The only rating on the motor is is IP 66 and the whole machine is classified  ATEX Zone 22. Im under the understanding that European listing and IP ratings do not hold any merit in the States. Has anyone ever ran across this, and if so were you able to install the equipment or did it need to be evaluated?
