I am a Board member of a 28 unit condo association in Traverse City Michigan. 4 of the 5 buildings are three story with a common middle entry way, two units (one right, one left) on a floor - the remaining four units are in a two story building.
The buildings were built in 1985 and are primarily stick built structures (wood). We have individual unit smoke detectors but no central building smoke/fire/CO2/Nat Gas detectors in the buildings. I have brought up the fact that this need is real for personal safety reasons.
My thought is some sort of wireless connected (bluetooth, etc.) non-monitored system (thought is that if the alarm were to go off, people could get out and call the police/fire as fast as a monitored system) system is needed to satisfy the need. Any thoughts? Any suggested systems?
