Where more than one structure is on the same property, each must be served by no more than one feeder or branch circuit [225.30]. As you might expect, the NEC provides several exceptions.
Is 225.30(F) one of the exceptions, or am I reading it wrong?
It looks like an editorial mistake has occurred. (F) permits additional feeders.
There is no "F." Isn't this the one that is printed in the IAEI changes book, but then it never made it into the code?
I believe there is an (F) in the NEC 2020, In the 2017 it is listed as (E). If I am reading it correctly
Ahhh - yes, documented safe switching procedures. What a crock. Thank you for reminding me as I'm going to submit a PI to delete the entire section. I can't tell you the garbage that I receive when someone attempts to use that section.
IF I ever allow that, it might be only for some type of industrial plant or exceptionally large facility where there was actually a large maintenance department with qualified personnel - qualified as in electrical licensure (and more than one). I've seen people attempt to use this section for office buildings, strip stores, apartments, etc., etc. No dice.
Errata No: 70-20-3 was issued to correct this in the 2020 NEC
