for Medium Voltage Switch Gear Room or some calling Distribution Room  Fire Protection , I know that most of in house design offices are applying Gaseous /Flooding protection such as Novac or FM200 or some times at special application using CO2 gaseous system; I have reviewed an old version for NFPA 850-2015 and could not reach to a particular solid information say must use gaseous Flooding Fire Protection system for the Gear Panels and cable trenches.

I've seen a design in front of me uses suspended ceiling automatic Co2 fire cylinders per attached snap shot, and my inquiry simply is this system far enough to protect the room contents at fire load and event.

best regards
