Is there a specification that when constructing a storage building separate from the nursing home, that it has to be so many feet away from the NH?? if so, can you tell me how much and where in the regulations it is listed.
How many sq ft?
More than likely you can put it as close as you want.
This is more of a local question, to ask the city/ county/ state building official, whoever has jurisdiction over building permits.
I don't know an exact distance, but the farther one can get away from New Hampshire the better.
Simply put- it depends!
The storage building next to a nursing home must have a fire separation distance in accordance with building safety code enforced in your area so a fire in either building does not spread to the other. IBC or NFPA 5000 so fire separation distance was such that no exterior wall and opening fire resistance was required on the nursing home, or the storage building protected by a supervised automatic sprinkler system in accordance with NFPA 13 and be the same construction type of the nursing home or the building safety code which ever in more restrictive.
It is not that simply to quote a specific distance. The building occupancies, site conditions and distances should be evaluated by a licensed design professional in your state. Our state would require that for nursing homes.
