Can anyone tell me what style guide NFPA uses to determine the numbering of sections of the electrical code? I am working on the Seattle Electrical Code and am needing to know how some subsections are numbered.
It has been numbered along time ago??
And appears Seattle just adds to it, when they add an item?

The entire document needs to be restructured, with regard to what you are asking (seriously, no joke).
In some sections you will notice for example:
and in other sections there may be
You will probably not be able to find consistency. A basic (I mean BASIC) guide for this is the NEC style manual. Search the website, it is free to download.
OK, so I am not crazy! I will see if I can find the style guide on the website. Thanks so much for the information and for replying.
Thank you so much for sending me a link to it.

The rules for how the NEC is structured can be found in the NEC Style Manual which is different than the NFPA Style Manual. Only the NEC and NFPA 70E follow the NEC style manual.
You could just use the Washington Electrical Code.
