In NYC the Code Reference is NFPA 20-2007 for Fire Pump Acceptance. As per sec 220.127.116.11.2 requires 150% of rated capacity of the pump. This is normally done at a test connection at the ground level. I witness a test that did not have the ground test connection. The flow was measured at the roof . The pump ran at 100% capacity at the highest level. I am willing to accept the pump. The design engineer wants the the pump to have 150% at the roof. I believe that is not the intent of the Code. Am I correct.
