I'm in the beginning stages of planning another book tentatively titled "Fire Departments and Communities." The topic will cover how fire departments perceive and respond to risks across communities in their jurisdictions (including risk assessment and risk reduction plan implementation), as well as information from non-governmental community stakeholders about how they view risk and fire department responsiveness to how citizens perceive those risks. I'd like to talk to chiefs, fire marshals, and veteran fire personnel from career, volunteer and combination departments so that I can get the fullest possible picture of how fire departments are interacting with their citizens in identifying and mitigating fire and other risks in a variety of community compositions. If you wouldn't mind my bugging you with emails and maybe a couple of phone calls, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
